Long Tail Boat

The Long Tail boat has a V-8 engine that powers a long tail shaft used to steer the boat.   Donna and Don took a tour barge first to see the Floating Market and then changed to a long tail boat for other canals and the river.   Bangkok is know as the “Venice of Asia” because of its many canals.

We hired a car with a driver and a english speaking guide for the day.   The young girl who was our guide spoke perfect english and was very knowledgeable about the Bangkok area and Thailand.   She got us to the docks where we rode the tour barge and went with us to get our transfer to the long tail boat.   She had the driver meet us at the dock and take us to various Buddist Temples as well as restaurants to eat.
